Electrical safety information.
In terms of electrical connectivity, this lampholder will only be connected to the phase and neutral conductors. Earthing is possible with a 10mm diameter round lug earthing cable placed under the jumper where it is fixed, some pre-wired earthing cables are available at the bottom of the product data sheet.
For obvious aesthetic reasons, it is difficult to envisage the use of a large 230 volt 2P plug or socket + earth for a floor-mounted lamp. More commonly, a flat 2-pin plug is used, allowing only the phase and neutral to be connected using a two-conductor cable.
This connection without earthing is possible, but it is essential to use an anti-pull-out system for the cable coming out of the lamp. Various cable locking devices can be installed, either in the base of the lamp or directly in the bottom of the lampholder.
These small plastic mechanisms have an anti-rotation and anti-pull function for your power supply cable.
These cable locks are available in the 'You'll like them too' section at the bottom of the product sheet.
